Air attack targets American base at Erbil International Airport

The US base at Erbil International Airport was attacked on Saturday midnight with booby-trapped drones.

A source in the Iraqi Counter-Terrorism Service in Erbil governorate said in a telephone conversation with SANA reporter in Baghdad that “three drones hovered around Erbil Airport at midnight before the US air wing at the airport was attacked by a drone, which resulted in damages of which the details are being scrutinized.” .

The source added that air traffic at the airport was suspended and all roads leading to it were closed.

An Iraqi security source had earlier announced, in a brief statement, an attack that targeted the vicinity of Erbil Airport with a booby-trapped drone.

In turn, the governor of Erbil just said that he is closely following the attack on the airport.
