After 87 days of  hunger strike… the Palestinian detainee Khader Adnan is a martyr and the resistance confirms that the crime will not go unanswered

Occupied Al-Quds (ST) – Since the moment of his detention on the fifth of last February, the Palestinian detainee Khader Adnan went on a hunger strike,in rejection of  his detention and the crimes of the Israeli occupation, and with the severe deterioration of his health, he continued the battle of empty stomachs to obtain his freedom.

Despite the wide Palestinian appeals to the International Community to intervene to save him, the occupation continued its intransigence which led to the martyrdom of  Adnan at dawn today  in Ramla detention center.

He was a witness to the occupation’s crimes against Palestinian prisoners of torture, abuse, medical neglect, and deliberate slow killing.

Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh affirmed that the occupation carried out a deliberate assassination crime against the prisoner Khader Adnan by rejecting his request for release, neglecting him medically, and keeping him in his cell despite the seriousness of his health condition. He called on international human rights to condemn this crime and not allow the perpetrators to go unpunished.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates called on the international investigation committee to include the circumstances and details of the death of Adnan while in an Israeli prison in its investigation of Israeli crimes against the Palestinian people, stressing that it will submit the file of this crime to the International Criminal Court.

Palestinian prisoners’ institutions stressed that the minister in the occupation government Itamar Ben-Gvir began to implement the policy of actually executing prisoners inside the detention centers. They added that what happened with Adnan is just the beginning of this brutal policy, which constitutes a violation of all international covenants and laws and the international community must act quickly to stop.

The Ministry of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs demanded pressure be put on the occupation authorities to hand over the body of the martyr for his burial in a manner befitting his heroic history of struggle.

The martyr ‘s wife said that her husband had gained what he desired the most when he was martyred, noting that the family will open their house to receive well-wishers of martyrdom.

Condemning the crime of the occupation, the Palestinian national forces announced a comprehensive strike in the occupied West Bank and the besieged Gaza Strip.

A state of high tension prevailed among the prisoners in the occupation detention centers, so the occupation forces assaulted the prisoners and fired poison gas bombs on them in an attempt to suppress them.

Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades carried out a heroic operation near a settlement established on the lands of the southern village of Shufa, east of Tulkarm in the occupied West Bank, which resulted in the injury of a settler. The resistance also fired barrages of rockets at the occupation settlements in the vicinity of the besieged Gaza Strip.

Fatah movement, Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, and Hamas movement all affirmed that this crime is a deliberate assassination of one of the most prominent heroic prisoners who launched hunger strike battles in refusal of arrest.

With the martyrdom of the detainee, Khader Adnan the number of martyrs of the captive movement since 1967 rises to 237 martyrs.
