AFC Under-20 Asian Cup Qualifiers Draw puts Syrian team in Group 4

The AFC Under-20 Asian Cup Qualifiers Draw has placed the Syrian National Under-20 Football Team in Group 4 which comprises also the national teams of Jordan, Chinese Taipe, Turkmenistan and the Northern Mariana Islands.

The draw ceremony was held in the Malaysian Capital Kuala Lumpur.

The qualifiers will be held between the 10th and 18th of September. Leaders of the ten groups, in addition to the best five teams which rank second, will qualify for the 2023 AFC U-20 Asian Cup in Uzbekistan.

The Syrian team participated ten times in the AFC Under-20 Asian Cup completions. It managed to win the 1994 AFC Youth Championship by beating Japan U20 2–1 in the final match. It also ranked second in the 1988 championship and third in 1990.
