Advisor Al-Shibl: The strategic relationship between Syria and China was built decades ago

Hangzhou, (ST) – The Special Advisor to the Presidency of the Republic, Luna Al-Shibl confirmed that the strategic relationship between Syria and China was built decades ago, and its progress has accelerated in the last decade, noting the important role that China plays today in the international arena and its establishment of a new path in common development.

Al-Shibl said in a statement to Al-Thawra and Tishreen newspapers from the Chinese city of Hangzhou that the Syrian-Chinese relations, which are diplomatically nearly 70 years old, is evidence of their depth, but their importance is not only in the past, but in a strategic relationship that was built decades ago. “These relations whose steps have accelerated in the last decade, based on the common political goals and language and the unity of approach in dealing with common issues are what formed deep agreements between the two countries based on common principles and interests”, she added.

Al-Shibl pointed out that China has established a new form in global politics, and has succeeded in becoming a major and economically powerful country without losing its morals and humanity. “Today, China plays the role of balance in the international arena and establishes a new path in common development and well-being for all”, she said.

Al-Shibl pointed out that Syria, with its geopolitical size constitutes an essential part of the Chinese vision for stability in the world, because the size of Syria is in its positions, steadfastness, and steadfastness in principles, and this confirms that when you adhere to your principles and issues, you reserve an important place in alliances with ancient, principled countries.

Al-Shibl said: Yesterday’s Syrian-Chinese summit confirms that China is proposing an international policy outside its walls based on principles, mutual respect, and common prosperity, to build clear and deep alliances for the stability of the region and the world, especially with the countries that have stoodsteadfast in the face of the Western camp, which builds its existence through occupation and control.

Al-Shibl pointed out that it was clear during the summit meeting that brought together Presidents Bashar Al-Assad and Xi Jinping that China possesses vision and knowledge not only in Syria but in the entire region, unlike some Western countries that possess information without knowledge. “Therefore, for Syria and China, there is no separation between what is happening in Syria, Ukraine, or the South China Sea, because the West creates problems wherever it can through force and military bases, while China builds solutions through the power of culture, respect, and common well-being for all peoples.”, she added.
