In the third and final stage, during which the participating teams were divided into two groups, the Syrian team achieved the sixth position as a general.

In a statement to the sports delegate of Sana, President of the Chess Federation, Ali Abbas, said that “the results of our team at this stage were good and the best during the championship rounds that were held according to a specific arbitration system for each stage separately,” indicating that participation in this stage amounted to 593 players.

Abbas pointed out that the championship was approved by the Mediterranean Union last April and was launched late last month and was held over three weeks at a rate of three days for each stage where our players managed to achieve good results in the first and second stages and proved their competence in this competition  strongly.

Syrian team won fourth place in the first and second stages in Blitz and Rapid, bearing in mind that the result of the participating teams depends on the result of the best ten players out of 50 players.
