Addressing outstanding students, Mrs. Asmaa Al-Assad: You are the generation that Syria is waiting for to shake off the dust of war
Damascus (ST): Mrs. Asmaa al-Assad received the distinguished youth of Syria, 111 male and female students in the basic and secondary education certificates for the year 2021. They came with their families from various Syrian governorates.
During her conversation with the students and their families, Mrs. Asmaa said: In every reception, I see the same challenge, determination, hope, ambition, the same gleam of victory and the spark of pride that I saw in your eyes and the eyes of your families today. You are our hope for a better future. The first who achieved the perfect score, which is the ambition of any superior student. The perfect score is only part of the perfection. Perfection is a broader, larger and more comprehensive concept than the perfect score. It is the concept of not giving up in the middle of the road or getting tired at the last moment, and certainly the concept of not accepting half-solutions or half- results.
Mrs. Asmaa added: The complete mastery I mean is that which differentiates between an ordinary person who accepts any result and a distinguished person who accepts only perfection.
Mrs. Asmaa went on to say that national awareness is based on our love for our country, but the most important aspect is based on our understanding of it. There are many who loved their country, but they could not help it because they did not understand its conditions or society, and of course, there are very few who excelled scientifically, but they turned their backs on their country when it needed them. The important target is that you complete with the same determination, clarity and vision for your goals, it is true that we can serve our country with science, but if we do not understand our society and do not know its weaknesses and strengths, our ability to give will be limited or deficient.
Ms. Asmaa explained: The country today requires much more from you on the scientific level and needs persistence, focus, determination and challenge, and you have excelled because you possessed all of this, and it needs more than that. The principles and mentality that you mentioned at all stages of study as you enter the battlefield of life.
Mrs. Asmaa addressed the parents saying: I congratulate you from my heart, you are the national wealth that sprouts such distinguished children, and because I, as a mother, know the role of parents in excelling, I tell you, congratulations are greater than the congratulations of the students, because today’s result is a harvest of years that you have worked hard and today is a day in which we celebrate, but it is also the result of days and nights and months in which you instilled in your children values, principles, love and challenge, and thanks are certainly extended to the professors and teachers who were able to fulfill the trust faithfully.
Mrs. Asma concluded her speech by saying: Mr. President and I are proud of you, and I expect the Syrians to be proud too, but the most important thing for all of us is that Syria is proud of you, and Syria is not only proud of the perfect mark but is proud of the one who protects and preserves it and raises its name high.
