Activities of the exhibition (Pulse of Aleppo) for handicrafts and heritage professions kick off

The activities of the “Pulse of Aleppo” exhibition for handicrafts and heritage professions kicked off  on Saturday in Aleppo with the participation of more than 63 craftsmen representing pottery making crafts, Arabic calligraphy, copperware and carpets, in addition to embroidery,  Aleppo laurel soap and others.

The head of the Craftsmen Union in Aleppo, Bakur Farah, underlined the importance of the exhibition in restoring life to craft installations, considering that it is a message to the world that the city of Aleppo is back as it was thanks to the sacrifices of the Syrian Arab Army.

For his part, Munir al-Akash, director at the Syrian Trust for Development, stated that the exhibition will last for three days and include professions that are threatened with disappearing, such as pottery making, bamboo work and peat-breaking, in order to create a job market for those who have these professions so that they can continue practicing their professions, which preserve the Syrian cultural identity.

Ahmed Al-Yaseen, head of the Executive Office of Aleppo Municipality, highlighted the importance of this exhibition by contributing to the reconstruction of Syria through various industries and crafts.

A number of craftsmen participating in the exhibition underscored  the importance of their participation to revive the ancient crafts that are considered part of the Syrian cultural heritage, expressing  their  pride and happiness  in participating to display high-quality local products.

A number of visitors noted the diversity of exhibits and their distinction in terms of local production, calling for the establishment of such exhibitions on a permanent basis.
