Activities of the 1st Syrian Conference on Mineral Oils and Industrial Greases kicks off in Damascus

Damascus, (ST) – The activities of the first Syrian conference on industrial greases and mineral oils kicked off in Damascus today, organized by Shammis Conferences and Exhibitions Company, in cooperation with the Ministry of Industry, under the title “The importance of base oils and lubricants in sustainable development and their role in supporting the national economy”.

In his speech, Deputy Minister of Industry Ayman Khoury stressed that the conference represents conclusive evidence of the steadfastness of national industrialists and their great desire to restore the wheel of production, and their belief in the necessity of doubling efforts alongside the government team to localize new industries and develop existing industries, in a way that serves the economy and sustainable development.

He referred to the diversity of parties, bodies and companies participating in the conference, which helps innovate new solutions for everything related to the mineral oils and industrial greases sector, develop it, reach competition with neighboring countries and achieve remarkable figures in exports.

Khoury said: The chemical industries are historically considered as one of the leading industries in Syria, and the base oil and lubricating oil production sector is considered as one of the important and vital sectors in this industry.

He called for encouraging investments and benefiting from the outcomes of scientific research and updating standard specifications to keep pace with global scientific developments in this industry.
