Activating Cooperation between Syria and Armenia

 Damascus, (ST) – Transport Minister Eng. Ali Hammoud discussed here with Deputy Director General of Civil Aviation of the Republic of Armenia Arsene Bogusian ways to activate and develop bilateral relations between civil aviation in Syria and Armenia and to restart the air route between the two countries.

 The Minister said that the developed and historical relations between the two countries urge the two sides to work to upgrade bilateral relations to a qualitative level. He stressed the need to unify the joint efforts and benefit from the experience and expertise of aviation work and develop the infrastructure of airports and technical facilities, qualifying cadres working and preparing them.

  For his part, Mr. Bogusian said that the next stage will witness great openness by the airlines to operate in Syria, led by Armenian airlines, praising the efforts of the Syrian government to restart airports.

 After his tour of Damascus International Airport and his field visits, he found that the airport works well despite the terrorist war against Syria, pointing to the great efforts of the workers to make the airport a success.

The meeting was attended by the Armenian ambassador in Damascus Arshak Poladian and the officials of the Syrian civil aviation companies.
