Acting Minister of Health Dr. Maher Al-Sharaa discussed with a delegation from the Norwegian Relief Agency ways to enhance health cooperation between the Ministry and the Agency. During a meeting held today at the Ministry of Health, the two sides discussed the possibility of establishing a cancer screening program that includes the most dangerous cancers, including breast, cervical, stomach, colon and lung, and paying greater attention to gynecological and general laparoscopic surgery and kidney dialysis programs.
The two sides stressed the need to focus on blood banks and secure all their requirements to continue their work and build the capacities of medical and nursing staff.
The meeting was attended by the Director of the Health Facilities Directorate, Dr. Hussein Al-Khatib, the Director of the Planning and International Cooperation Directorate, Dr. Zuhair Qarat, and a number of directors and stakeholders.
