Academic cooperation between Syria and Iran discussed

Damascus (ST) –Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Bassam Ibrahim today discussed with the Iranian Ambassador to Damascus Hussein Akbari the work of the joint committee related to scientific exchange, scientific twinning programs in specialized scientific fields, and mechanisms for developing the executive program signed between the two countries.

Minister Ibrahim stressed the importance of developing and strengthening joint academic cooperation between Syrian and Iranian universities, in addition to holding joint scientific conferences.

He pointed to the support provided by the Iranian side regarding scholarships to Syrian students.

For his part, Akbari stressed his country’s keenness to take all measures to develop bilateral cooperation between the two countries, and to accelerate the amendment of the executive program and put it into practice.
