Damascus-(ST)- With the aim of opening new export windows for the Syrian product, introductory activities were launched on the 23rd of April about “Syria Mall” located in Muscat, the capital of the Sultanate of Oman, on the occasion of its completion, at the Al Dama Al Rose Hotel in Damascus.
The events held in the governorates of Damascus, Homs and Aleppo review the aim of establishing the mall and its contribution to supporting the production and export process in Syria and supporting economic relations between Syria and the Sultanate of Oman, in addition to displaying the best Syrian export products in the Arabian Gulf region.
The Chairman of the Mall’s Board of Directors, Dr. Muhammad Orabi, explained in his speech that the goal of establishing the mall is to provide a platform for launching Syrian goods, so that the subscriber finds himself the owner of a licensed company and he is residing in the Sultanate of Oman as an investor with all privileges.
Orabi stated that the mall extends over an area of 6,000 square meters distributed over about 100 internal and external commercial units divided into two floors, in addition to public facilities and services, as it includes shops on the main street and inside the mall, cafes, restaurants, and sports fields, and it is located in a strategic area on Sultan Qaboos Street.He pointed out that the best services have been provided, including communications and air conditioning, along with an online store that opens doors to all internal and external markets.
In turn, the President of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce, Muhammad Abu Al-Huda Al-Laham, confirmed that establishing the mall is a good opportunity for export. Therefore, we, in the Federation of Chambers of Commerce, which includes the Export Committee concerned with Syrian exports, were keen to sponsor this event due to our deep belief in the necessity of opening new export markets for the Syrian product.
For his part, Assistant Minister of Industry, Engineer Asaad Wardah, pointed out that the Ministry is constantly working to support the public and private sectors in terms of reducing costs, increasing production, removing obstacles and impediments, and it is constantly focusing on industries with comparative advantages, high added value, and export capacity.
Director of the Authority for Support and Development of Local Production and Exports, Thaer Al-Fayad, pointed out that they have programs within the Authority to support Syrian exports, hoping that the mall will be a center and a permanent exhibition for all Syrian goods at the level of the Gulf Cooperation countries within one window.
The launching of the activities was attended by a member of the central leadership of the Arab Socialist Baath Party, Mahdi Dakhlallah, and a number of businessmen, merchants, industrialists, representatives of unions, and media.
