Tehran (ST): Iranian Foreign Minister Hussein Amir Abdullahian discussed, during a phone call with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi, regional and international developments, in addition to bilateral relations.
Abdullahian said: The relations between Tehran and Beijing are positive and moving forward, noting the development taking place regarding the implementation of the agreements concluded between the presidents of the two countries, which is a step in the right direction.
For his part, Wang referred to his country’s positions on the BRICS summit meeting in South Africa and the issues related to the accession of new members to this group, noting that the recent visit of the Iranian Foreign Minister to Saudi Arabia and the progress of the growing relations between Tehran and Riyadh, considering that Iran’s presence in the next meeting of the “Belt and Road” initiative enjoys special importance, given that Iran is one of the core members of this group.
