Abdullahian renews Iran’s support for Lebanon, the Lebanese army and resistance

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian affirmed the Islamic Republic of Iran’s strong support for the Lebanese government and people and the Lebanese army and resistance.

Upon his arrival at Beirut airport on Wednesday evening for a two-day visit, Abdullahian said: “The visit is an opportunity to hold more consultations with officials in Lebanon on bilateral, regional and international issues, as new developments have taken place in the region in recent weeks, and this will be in the interest of the entire region, the Islamic world and Lebanon.”

Abdullahian added, “Iran has always supported dialogue and negotiations on tensions and crises in the region, and it does not consider that wars are the solution. We are concerned about the clashes that are taking place in Sudan and we will continue to exert our efforts and focus on strengthening peace in the region, especially in Afghanistan, Yemen, Ukraine, Sudan and Libya.”

Abdallahian pointed out that Lebanon’s security, prosperity, well-being and progress will be in the interest of the region.
