Abdullahian: Deepening economic cooperation with neighboring countries is one of Tehran’s priorities

Tehran (ST): Iranian Foreign Minister Hussein Amir Abdullahian affirmed that deepening and expanding economic cooperation with neighboring countries, regional countries and Asian countries is one of the priorities of Iran’s economic diplomacy.

During the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the expansion of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) in Tehran, Abdullahian said: The organization has a special position in Iran, which takes advantage of every opportunity to enhance rapprochement in it, pointing out that the organization can be a successful model in cooperation between countries in the south, non-coastal countries, Transit countries and energy producing and consuming countries.

He added: The market of the Organization countries, with a population of 500 million, and its synergistic economy in terms of energy resources, skilled labor, transportation, shipping and transit networks, common cultural, religious and civilizational roots, have made the prospects for cooperation promising.

Abdullahian affirmed Iran’s commitment and interest in strengthening the Economic Cooperation Organization and deepening and strengthening relations with neighbors and countries in the region.
