Abdul Latif, Al Nuaimi discuss strengthening cooperation to provide assistance to those affected by the earthquake

On March 13th, the Minister of Public Works and Housing Suhail Abdul Latif met with the Chargé d’Affaires of the UAE Embassy in Damascus, Counselor Abdul Hakim Al Nuaimi.

The two sides discussed relations between the two countries, a mechanism for enhancing joint cooperation, and coordinating efforts to continue providing support and aid to those affected by the earthquake disaster.

Minister Abdul Latif appreciated the great role of the United Arab Emirates and its standing with Syria immediately after the catastrophe of the earthquake that hit the country.

Minister Abdul Latif said that the Syrian government is working according to a national plan to confront the effects of the earthquake, as providing aid according to the stages of this plan helps mitigate its effects.

In turn, Al Nuaimi pointed to the UAE’s keenness to strengthen and develop bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries, stressing that the aid will be continuous according to the needs of each stage.

Al Nuaimi expressed his sympathy with the families of the victims who died as a result of the earthquake, wishing the speedy recovery of the injured and the safe return of those affected to their homes.
