Abdul Ghani: We announce the end of the military operation and the success of our forces in achieving all the objectives

Spokesman for the Ministry of Defense, Colonel Hassan Abdul Ghani, told SANA: Our units were able to repel an attack launched by the SDF forces on the Ashrafieh front in Aleppo city, and we inflicted losses on the attacking groups.

Abdul Ghani added: In fulfillment of the promise we made to our honorable people with the launch of the second phase of operations, we announce the success of our forces, thank God and  the determination of our men, in achieving all the objectives set for this phase.

He continued: Thank God, we were able to absorb the attacks of the remnants of the former regime and its officers, and we destroyed their element of surprise and were able to push them away from vital centers and secured most of the public roads that the remnants used as a starting point to target our civilians and innocent people.

Colonel Hassan Abdul Ghani went on saying: Our forces were able to neutralize the security cells and remnants of the former regime from the town of Al-Mukhtariyya, the town of Al-Muzayri’a, the Al-Zobar area and others in Latakia Governorate, and the town of Al-Daliyah, the town of Ta’nita and Al-Qadmus in Tartous Governorate, which resulted in thwarting the threats and securing the area.

He added: With this achievement, we announce the end of the military operation that was launched for the previously mentioned goals, and after public institutions were able to resume their work and provide basic services to our people in preparation for the return of life to normal and work to establish security and stability.

Colonel Abdul Ghani concluded: The security services will work in the coming period to enhance their work to ensure stability, maintain security and the safety of the people, as they have put in place new plans to complete the fight against the remnants of the former regime, and work to end any future threat, and to prevent the reorganization of criminal cells again. We will give the investigation committee the full opportunity to uncover the circumstances of the events, verify the facts and provide justice to the oppressed.
