Abbas Al-Nouri honored at the 3rd Festival for Arab Film in Muscat

DAMASCUS, (ST): The management of the 3rd Arab Film Festival, which will be launched in the Omani capital, Muscat, next Saturday, has chosen actor Abbas Al-Nouri to honor him in appreciation of his artistic career alongside a group of Arab artists and directors.

The Syrian artist Abbas Al-Nouri will be honored along with Mahmoud Hamida from Egypt, Muhammad Al-Mansour from Kuwait, Dr. Habib Ghuloom from the UAE, his wife Haifa Hussein and Amina Abdel Rasoul from the Sultanate of Oman, Tariq Khuzaei from Sweden, who is of Iraqi origin, director Faisal Al-Yasiri from Iraq and Ghanem Al-Sulaiti from Qatar.

The festival activities include an official competition in which 32 films will compete, including five Syrian films competing for the Awards for the best short fiction film, best documentary film, best cartoon film, and the Jerusalem Prize.

The main competition jury consists of critic Dr. Lama Tayara from Syria, artist Dr. Habib Ghuloom, head of the committee from the UAE, Dr. Muhammad Seif from Sudan, director Maher Daniel from Egypt, and Insaf Ouhaiba, a programmer and researcher from Tunisia.
