A writer in The Guardian: Western leaders are well aware of Israel’s intentions regarding Gaza but disregard them
“History renews itself and positions come back to life again,” This is how the writer in the British newspaper The Guardian, Owen Jones, described the positions of Western leaders regarding the war waged by the Israeli occupation entity on Gaza Strip.
What happened before the American invasion of Iraq in 2003 concerning the disregard of those responsible of the truth and their insistence on moving forward in the devastating American war despite their awareness of the consequences it carries is repeated, as he said, through their insistence now on playing the role of being naive and ignorant of what “Israel” is planning.
Jones brought to mind a phrase used by many Western leaders and politicians, whether in Britain or America and others, who supported the American war on Iraq based on the lie of weapons of mass destruction, and their saying that if “they had known what they know now, they would not have voted for that war. This phrase was an object of disavowal of their responsibility for the atrocities of the American invasion of Iraq and the catastrophic consequences it had on the entire world.
Jones pointed out that this phrase will reappear again soon, as Western leaders have returned to playing the same role and claiming that they are ignorant of the massacres that “Israel” will commit in Gaza despite its explicit announcement of that.
