Marking the International Women’s Day and March festivals, the Handicrafts Exhibition “A Woman’s Fingerprint 16” opened yesterday in Aleppo in collaboration between the “Together We Rise” Association and the Directorate of Labor and Social Affairs
The exhibition, which was held in the Shahba Rose complex, displayed a group of handicrafts, food, and other crafts. Saleh Barakat, Director of Labor and Social Affairs, clarified in a statement to SANA reporter that the exhibition is held annually and deals with women and their distinctive products of sweets, foodstuffs, textiles, wool works and other endangered crafts, which contributed to helping their families.
Engineer Rafif Majni, Executive Director of the “Together We Rise” Association, said, “the works that the participants were trained to prepare include painting on glass, resin works, candles, sewing, embroidery and linens , with the aim of supporting women and highlight their creativity and ability to produce.” She pointed out that the exhibition reflects the Syrian heritage and identity, especially that the city of Aleppo is famous for its heritage of handicrafts.
Ghaithaa Wattar showed that she is a permanent participant in the exhibition in the field of crochet and woolen works, while Iman Faham made it clear that by participating in the exhibition every year she has done useful things in her free time in the field of accessories by creating distinctive and modern designs that suit the public taste.
Fatima Al-Zahraa Farawati, through her small project, presented resin products such as medals, accessories, and ornamental tools.
Visitors of the exhibition stressed that it was comprehensive and contained many products of interest to the family.
