A wide fire in Sweida northwestern countryside and firefighters control 80 percent of it

Sweida – The firefighting teams in cooperation with the locals have been able to control a wide fire that erupted on Saturday evening in Sweida province and reached the agricultural lands between the villages and towns of Ariqa, Dama, Jarin and Labin in the northwestern countryside of the province.

Commander of the firefighting brigade in Sweida Yahiya Darwish said that the firefighting teams were able to control the fire and to extinguish it from all directions as the fire remained in a limited rocky area which is difficult to reach.

The fire destroyed wide areas and inflicted damage to the crops of wheat, barley, lentils, cotton and others, in addition to some trees, Darwish added.
