Aleppo (ST) – The General Federation of Trade Unions honored on Monday a thousand male and female workers in a ceremony held at Al-Assad Sports Hall in Aleppo.
The Minister of Industry, Dr. Abdul Qadir Jokhadar, stated that celebrating Labor Day is a real opportunity to celebrate the steadfastness of the Syrian workers and their perseverance to work during the terrorist war with a spirit full of hope and work together.
He added that 1 May is an occasion in which we affirm our determination to continue working to drive the economy at a steady pace towards growth and prosperity.
Head of the General Federation of Trade Unions, Jamal Al-Qadri, said that the true voice of workers will remain the defender of their rights to achieve what is possible for their interest in light of the existing conditions, and continuing to work to improve the living reality.
Head of the Workers Union in Aleppo, Mustafa Wazzan Idlibi, stated that the Labor Day commemoration came this year while Aleppo is suffering from the effects of the earthquake disaster.

Major General Yasser Al-Shoufi, the Governor of Aleppo, Hussein Diab, head of the Aleppo City Council, Dr. Maad Medelji, and a group of working-class people, attended the ceremony.
