A terrorist group admits to committing terrorist attacks in Damascus and its countryside

A terrorist group affiliated with the terrorist “Jabhat al-Nusra” organization has confessed to committing a series of terrorist attacks in Damascus and its countryside using explosive devices during the years 2019, 2020 and 2021. The attacks resulted in the death and injury of dozens of citizens.

The terrorist group targeted a number of civilian and military figures after monitoring their movements, and then published statements claiming the attacks in the name of a fictitious organization called “SarayaQasioun” with the aim of trying to distance the terrorist label from “Al-Nusra Front” organization, or what is currently called “Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham”.

In the confessions broadcast by Al-SouriyaTV channel, members of the terrorist group also admitted receiving instructions from leaders in “Al-Nusra Front” organization present in Idlib province. They also admitted using false identities to receive and distribute explosive materials and money.

The terrorist attacks carried out by the group included targeting members of the National Defense in Nahr Aisha neighborhood on 4/24/2019, which led to the death of a citizen.

The attacks also included targeting the political analyst Dr. Talib Ibrahim on 6/27/2019, wounding his wife and son, and targeting the commander of the National Defense Center in Nahr Aisha neighborhood in 22-7-2019, which led to the martyrdom of a citizen.

The mayor of Qudsaya Nabil Rizma was also targeted on August 29, 2019 which led to his martyrdom, and the National Defense official in al-Dahadeel was targeted on 12-16-2019, which led to his death. The attacks also targeted many other areas in al-Dahadeel area on 13- 3-2020, and Nahr Aisha neighborhood on 7-18-2020.

Sheikh Adnan al-Afyouni, the mufti of Damascus and its countryside was also targeted on 10/22-2020, which led to his martyrdom. Two explosive devices were detonated on al-Sumariya highway on 15 -12-2020 causing material damage. The attacks also targeted a bus transporting civil workers of the Military Housing Corporation on 10-20-2021 near the President’s Bridge, which led to the death of 14 workers.
