Al-Miqdad, who is from the city of Bosra in the countryside of Daraa, has managed for more than twenty years to collect heritage tools to contribute to preserving this heritage and familiarizing generations with what the old houses contained in terms of tools before the development in the field of construction and living requirements.
Al-Miqdad told SANA that the heritage represents the customs and traditions of the people of the region and reminds us of their past, indicating that over the past twenty years, he collected about 3 thousand different heritage pieces, including what the ancestors used in agricultural operations including tools used for grinding wheat, such as stone milling to introduce them to those who are interested in heritage.
Among the tools that Al-Miqdad kept were old cooking pots as well as pots for pouring and transporting food , which were used on special occasions with the aim of introducing the principles of warm hospitality of the people in Bosra city to young generations.
Old rugs and mattresses, according to Al-Miqdad, are among the pieces that distinguish Bosra city , as this industry is considered one of the original heritage there , adding straw big dishes with bright colors decorate the walls of old houses which attract the viewer.
Al-Miqdad pointed out that the incense burner , the lighting lantern and the clay jars to keep water cold in the summer were popular in the past, indicating that he collected a number of boxes that were used by the women in Bosra to keep their jewellery.
The Syrian youth collected different kinds of clothes that were worn by the citizens of Bosra on various occasions including weddings, commemorations, work and visits.
