A Syrian passenger plane carrying 260 stranded Syrian students from Erbil arrived at Damascus International Airport
As part of the Syrian government efforts to bring home Syrians who have been stranded abroad due to COVID-19 pandemic, 260 Syrians arrived at Damascus International Airport today coming from Erbil International Airport in Iraq.
The new arrivals, who were tested for current COVID-19 infection, were immediately transported to al-Horjelah quarantine centre in Damascus countryside, where medical teams will monitor their conditions daily for 14 days, in accordance to the preventive health measures taken by the Syrian Ministry of Health to reduce the spread of the virus.
Since May 4, Syrian Air has started flights to evacuate Syrians wishing to return to Syria, according to lists registered through embassies and diplomatic missions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates.
