A Symposium on the assassination of cultural and resistance figures in Abu Rummana Culture Center

DAMASCUS, (ST)- The cultural, social and national dimensions of the martyrdom of resistance fighters and writers are among the most important axes that were addressed in the symposium  held at Abu Rummana cultural center on the assassination of cultural and political figures, with the participation of a number of researchers and writers.

Cultural Adviser at the Iranian embassy, Abu Al-Fadl Salehi Niya talked in his lecture about the convictions of the martyr Qassem Souleimani in defending  oppressed people, highlighting his firm will in fighting terrorism and Zionism, which resulted in America’s  assassination of him but the reaction was much broader than it had imagined.

Journalist William Abdullah in his talk spoke about  the importance of documenting martyrs so that generations will know the sacrifices of these heroes for the sake of land and honor, citing the martyrdom of Basil Karfoul, a soldier in the Syrian Arab Army, posted in the city of Aleppo who was martyred while confronting terrorists.

The poet Radwan Fallaha talked about the martyr artist, Naji Al-Ali whose works amounted to tens of thousands of paintings that document the Palestinian revolution, pointing  to the national dimensions in his drawings, which caused horror to the occupation entity and its associates, so they assassinated him.

Plastic artist Mohamed Jalal participated in the symposium by displaying paintings and  portraits of martyrs Soleimani, Karfoul, and Ali.
