A symposium on the 54th anniversary of the crime of burning Al-Aqsa Mosque

Damascus, (ST) – The Syrian Arab People’s Committee for Supporting the Palestinian People and Resisting the Zionist Project on Wednesday held a symposium entitled “On the 54th Anniversary of the Crime of Burning Al-Aqsa Mosque” by former Criminal Court judge Rashid Mawed at the Arab Cultural Center in Mezzeh.

Mawed gave a presentation on the Zionist entity attacks on the Islamic and Christian holy places in the occupied city of Al- Quds (Jerusalem) and its plans that aimed at Judaizing the city, changing its character and obliterating its features, in disregard to international conventions that prevent infringement of sanctities and antiquities.

Mawed indicated that the crime of burning Al-Aqsa Mosque is not a transient event committed by a mentally ill tourist as the entity promotes it, rather, it is the rebuilding of the alleged “Jewish Temple” to replace this mosque after its removal. He stressed that the struggle of the Palestinian people continues as the only way to liberate the land and return rights to their owners and end occupation.

Interventions during the symposium focused on the necessity of developing a practical strategy and mobilizing the Palestinian, Arab, Islamic and free national stance to confront the practices of the occupying entity and its repeated assaults on the sanctity of sanctities in occupied Palestine.
