A strike prevails in the West Bank to condemn the massacre committed by the Israeli occupation in Jenin and its refugee camp
Today the strike spread across the cities and towns of the West Bank, to condemn the massacre committed by the Israeli occupation forces in the city of Jenin and its camp.
The massacre resulted in the death of nine Palestinians, the wounding of twenty by bullets, and dozens of suffocation cases.
Palestinian media reported that the strike, which was called for by the Palestinian national forces, included all walks of life, with the exception of the health sector and bakeries.
The forces said in a statement: “In front of the continuous Palestinian bloodshed, we demand international protection for the Palestinian people, and for the International Criminal Court to speed up an investigation into the occupation’s crimes in order to stop them.”
For his part, Palestinian Prime Minister Muhammad Shtayyeh pointed out that the occupation forces continue to commit murders against the Palestinians, driven by a sense of impunity.
He called on the United Nations and all international human rights organizations to intervene urgently to provide international protection for the Palestinian people.
The Palestine Liberation Organization condemned the international silence on the crimes of the occupation, the latest of which was the horrific massacre in Jenin and its camp, explaining that these crimes would not have occurred without the permanent support of the occupation from the colonial countries, led by the United States and some European countries.
In turn, the Speaker of the Palestinian National Council, Rawhi Fattouh, affirmed that the massacre committed by the occupation in Jenin and its camp reflects the true face of the occupation, its bloody nature, and its violation of human rights charters.
He called on the international community to break its silence and take practical measures to stop the crimes of the occupation and hold those responsible accountable.
The Popular Struggle Front indicated that what happened in Jenin was a heinous massacre committed by the occupation in front of the eyes of the world, as its forces targeted Palestinians in the camp, children and patients in Jenin Hospital in cold blood.
The Fatah Movement affirmed that the silence of the international community on the occupation’s terrorism constitutes a cover for it.
The Movement said that the Palestinians in Jenin and its camp and all the Palestinian territories will continue to confront the occupation with steadfastness and determination to thwart all its colonial plans aimed at liquidating the Palestinian cause.
