A stand in Damascus in solidarity with prisoners on hunger strike in Israeli occupation jails

DAMMASCUS, (ST)- A solidarity stand was held in Damascus on Saturday to voice support for the Plaestinian prisoners currently on hunger strike in the Israeli occupation jails and to stress rejection of normalization deals with Israeli enemy.

The solidarity stand was organized by the Palestinian “Islamic Jihad Movement” in cooperation with “Muhjat al-Quds Foundation for Prisoners”.

Participants in the stand affirmed the need to support the prisoners against the occupation’s aggressive and repressive practices, urging the world’s legal and humanitarian committees to put pressure on the occupation entity to stop its crimes against the prisoners and release them.

They reiterated the need to stop all forms of normalization with Israel, abandon the illusions of settlement and reject negotiations with the Zionist enemy, because this will give the enemy the time to complete its scheme to undermine the Palestinian cause.

The participants, who affirmed that the Palestinian cause is the Arab nation’s central issue, pointed out that hunger strikes are a form of resistance and struggle against occupation and they constitute a message to the world calling for putting an end to the crimes of the racist Israeli entity which keeps violating all laws and international legitimacy resolutions.

Director General of the Al-Quds International Foundation- Syria, Dr. Khlaf al-Miftah, a consultant from  the Venezuelan Embassy in Damascus, a number of  Palestinian factions’ leaders, representatives of the committees for defending the prisoners in the Israeli jails as well as several Syrian and Palestinian cultural, social and religious figures took part in the event.
