On April 18th, hundreds of Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip staged a solidarity stand in support of the Palestinian prisoners in the Israeli occupation detention camps.
Protesters gathered in front of the headquarters of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) west of Gaza City on the occasion of the Palestinian Prisoner’s Day.
The protesters said that the Palestinian prisoners are subjected to severe violations and brutal practices in the occupation prisons, amid deliberate medical negligence against them.
The protesters called on the international community, human rights and humanitarian institutions and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to shoulder their responsibilities and urgently intervene to save the lives of the prisoners and provide them with protection.
About 4,600 Palestinian prisoners inside the Israeli occupation prisons face harsh detention conditions and 1,800 prisoners suffer from multiple diseases due to the spread of epidemics.
