Damascus (ST): On the sidelines of the fourth meeting of the follow-up to the international conference on the return of refugees, a Russian delegation visited today the city of Zabadani in Damascus countryside and presented a set of supplies and equipment for the Church of the Virgin Mary and a 100-kilowatt generator for the Zabadani National Hospital.

In a statement,  the spokeswoman for the Syrian-Russian peace initiative, Dr. Salwa Shaaban, indicated that the initiative is a series of continuous work between the two sides and contributes to strengthening friendship relations between them at all medical, humanitarian and intellectual levels, and was carried out in coordination with the Russian Reconciliation Center.

For his part, Director of the Department of Foreign and Economic Relations in the Moscow Government, Igar Bakkar Fitch, underlined the importance of restoring the  Virgin Church, especially after the destruction it suffered as a result of the terrorist war on Syria, indicating that the equipment provided is a symbol of cooperation between the two countries.

Father Philip Kasiltsev, representative of the Orthodox Church in Moscow, considered these gifts a symbol of love and peace, wishing to benefit from them in the spiritual and religious aspect of the Church.
