A Russian delegation visits Syria’s Lattakia to sign agreements for joint cooperation in several fields

Lattakia (ST): A Russian delegation on Sunday arrived at Lattakia International Airport from the Nizhny Novgorod Regional District of the Russian Federation. The delegation is headed by Peter Vitalyevich Banikov, the deputy governor of the district.

The delegation’s visit comes within the framework of the meetings of the Syrian-Russian coordinating committees, which will include many meetings and events in Damascus, Lattakia and other governorates, during the period from the 4th to the 9th of June.

Banikov explained in a statement to news reporter that the visit today aims to sign several agreements for joint cooperation with Lattakia Governorate in a number of medical, economic, tourism and cultural fields, and to meet with officials of the Health Department in the province to discuss how to transfer humanitarian aid, and to conduct qualitative humanitarian eye surgeries in Tishreen Hospital, participation in cultural events and exhibitions, in addition to participating in the opening of an archaeological site in Ugarit.

In turn, the head of the Lattakia Provincial Council, Engineer Tayseer Habib, indicated that this visit is the third for the delegation consisting of high-level officials representing the province to Lattakia Governorate, to complete the cooperation talks in the economic, tourism and cultural fields.
