A Russian delegation headed by Borisov arrives in Damascus for talks on bilateral cooperation

 An official Russian delegation, headed by Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov, arrived in Damascus today (September 6) evening to hold talks with Syrian officials on developing and strengthening bilateral cooperation in various fields.

Syria’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Ayman Sousan, the Russian ambassador in Damascus, Alexander Yefimov and a number of officials from the Foreign Ministry received Borisov and the accompanying delegation at Damascus International Airport.

The Russian delegation is scheduled to hold two -day bilateral and economic talks with Syrian officials with the aim of completing the discussions of the Syrian-Russian Joint Committee for Trade, Economic, Technical and Scientific Cooperation, which held its twelfth meeting in Moscow in December 2019. 

 

It is noteworthy that during last year’s meeting, the final protocol of the meeting and an agreement for cooperation in the field of customs facilities between the two countries were signed.
