A return to normality for Khan Sheikhoun after its liberation

The city of Khan Sheikhoun in the southern countryside of Idlib which has recently been liberated by the Syrian Arab Army, is currently witnessing the return of a number of its locals to their city and their homes after being forcibly displaced for years because of the terrorist organizations that practiced all forms of killing and destruction.

“After several years of leaving the city as a result of the attacks by terrorist groups, we are going back to our normal life today and we hope to be able to reconstruct what had been devastated by terrorism,” Mohamed Knaisawi, a local returning to the city told SANA correspondent, adding that the services establishments are contributing in the process of reforming and reconstructing the service utilities of electricity and water networks.

According to Hussein Haj Ali, the return of hundred families to the city of Khan Sheikhoun contributed to the resumption of the process of life and reconstruction to the city again,” pointing out that a number of artesian wells are being rehabilitated to operate soon and provide the city with drinking water.

The volunteers from the Syrian Association for Social Development in Masyaf pointed out that the association, through its volunteer teams, has proved its reliability since the first days of liberating the city by identifying the basic needs of the people repatriating to their homes, working to ensure the prerequisites in the light of the available resources and helping the families to start a business and income-generating project with local resources and products.

On August 23, the General Command of the Army and the Armed forces announced clearing the city of Khan Sheikhoun in the southern countryside of Idlib and the villages and the towns in the northern countryside of Hama from terrorism after inflicting the terrorists with heavy losses in personnel and equipment.
