The Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Daraa with the support of the International Committee of the Red Cross and the Syrian Arab Red Crescent branch began receiving applications from craftsmen within the project to support existing small enterprises in the industrial zone in the city of Daraa.
The Head of the Chamber, Engineer Qasim Al-Masalma, stated that the goal of the project is to revitalize the industrial zone by supporting professions, crafts, and services that were considered a primary source of income for a large percentage of citizens in Daraa before the years of the crisis.
He added that the criteria for applying for the project and selecting beneficiaries include people between the ages of 20 and 60 years, who have the ability to work and to establish the project in the industrial zone.
He pointed out that the priority in the project is for families that have a high dependency ratio or have individuals with disabilities and those who own existing micro businesses and wish to expand them to increase their income.
During the project, field visits will be carried out in the workplace, an entrepreneurship workshop will be attended by applicants who meet the criteria, and a financial grant will be given to the beneficiaries to purchase the required materials and supplies, with follow-up visits for a full year.
