A plane carrying 197 Syrians stranded abroad arrives from Sultanate of Oman

Damascus, (ST) –  The Ministry of Transport announced that a plane belonging to( the Syrian Airlines) arrived at Damascus InternationalAirport today, coming from the Sultanate of Oman, carrying 197 Syrian citizens, as part of government efforts to return Syrians stranded abroad due to the Corona pandemic..

A similar plane came from Sharjah Airport in the UAE arrived at Damascus International Airport the day before yesterday, carrying 188 citizens.

On the 16th of last August, the Ministry of Interior called on Syrian citizens wishing to return home to communicate with the embassies in (Cairo, Muscat, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Amman, Kuwait, Khartoum, Manama, Moscow, Algeria and Baghdad) to register their request to return to Syria so that the special government team can prepare a program for Syrian aviation flights within the Government efforts to return Syrian citizens from abroad.

Since the fourth of last May, Syrian Airlines began operating flights to evacuate Syrian nationals who wish to return from countries around the world to Syria, according to lists registered through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates at embassies and diplomatic missions.
