A New Israeli plan to establish 1248 settlement units in the West Bank

The Israeli occupation authorities announced a new plan to establish 1248 settlement units in the West Bank.

Wafa Agency stated that the new plan aims to expand settlements established in the cities of Al Quds (Jerusalem), Bethlehem, Al Khalil (Hebron) and areas north of the West bank.

The occupation authorities continue to expand the settlement operations, ignoring the rejection of the international community and dozens of the UN resolutions that affirm the illegality of the settlement building activities in the occupied Palestinian lands and demand their cessation.

Palestinian Foreign Ministry: Settlement Expansion is a crime and the international community must stop it

In a related context, the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed that the Israeli occupation flouts all international legitimacy resolutions that call for stopping settlement expansion as it is illegal and it constitutes a crime that threatens the chances of establishing a Palestinian state with Al Quds as its capital.  The international community should act immediately to stop the Israeli settlement expansion and oblige the occupation to implement the relevant UN resolutions, the ministry said.

In a statement reported by Wafa Agency today, the ministry condemned the occupation authorities’ announcement of a plan to establish 1248 new settlement units to expand settlements already established in Al Quds (Jerusalem), Bethlehem, Al Khalil (Hebron), and areas north of the West Bank.

The ministry considers that the settlement expansion is a blatant challenge for the will of the international community and a disregard for the international stance that warns of the dangers of these settlement operations.

The ministry considered that the occupation authorities is taking advantage of double standards to implement more of their colonial and expansionist plans, and to move forward with the gradual annexation of the West Bank, stressing that “Israel’s continuous impunity for its crimes encourages it to commit more of them, foremost of which is the settlement expansion.
