A new methodology of work followed by the Reconstruction Committee to rebuild liberated areas

On March 10, the Reconstruction Committee on the rebuilding of areas liberated from terrorism and compensation for war-affected people discussed its plan for the next stage in light of the expansion of the victories achieved by the Syrian Arab Army.

During a meeting chaired by the Prime Minister Eng. Imad Khamis, the Committee evaluated the implemented projects and how to finance the services projects in the liberated areas to ease the return of displaced people to their hometowns.

The Committee adopted a new methodology of work according to the ministries’ investment budgets to be more effective in the next stage.

The Committee decided to support the government-run construction companies to carry out the service projects according to their plans and schedules.

The Committee adopted a monthly payment mechanism to the companies’ implemented projects and works in the liberated areas until the middle of the first quarter of this year( January and half of February of 2020) .

The Committee agreed to continue paying compensation for damaged factories and people and to set new standards of payments which will be approved by the Cabinet.

In a press statement after the meeting, Minister of Local Administration and Environment Eng. Hussein Makhlouf stated that the purpose of the Committee’s work is to ease the return of displaced families to their hometowns after rebuilding schools, health centers, road, sanitation, electricity and water.
