DAMASCUS, (ST)- The Health Ministry announced on Saturday that a new COVID-19 patient in his 70s has died at Aleppo University Hospital, raising the death toll from the pandemic in Syria to 9.
The ministry clarified in a statement that the infected man was suffering from heart problems and diabetes.
The health and monitoring teams have been working to identify the people who have had contact with the patient in order take necessary medical procedures to limit the spread of the disease, the ministry said.
The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Syria has reached 256 of which 102 have recovered and 9 nine have died, the ministry added.
