A new collapse of parts of the grain silos in the port of Beirut

Beirut, (ST) – This morning, the port of the Lebanese capital, Beirut, witnessed a new collapse of parts of its grain silos.

According to the Lebanese National News Agency, parts of the northern side of the silos collapsed, less than 3 days after some other parts fell, creating a lot of dust.

The Lebanese army had specified an area of 150 meters in diameter in the vicinity of the silos, preventing anyone from crossing it, as the silos were threatened with collapse.

On August 4, 2020, the port of Beirut witnessed a huge explosion that killed more than 200 people and injured more than 6,500 others, causing extensive damage to the port and a number of Beirut neighborhoods.
