A month has passed since the Turkish occupation’s crime of cutting water to a million citizens in Hasakah
A month has passed since the Turkish occupation’s crime of cutting the water of Allouk station, the main source of drinking water to one million citizens in Hasakah. In the meantime, the emergency measures of government agencies and humanitarian organizations continue to secure temporary sources that provide the people of Hasakah city and its countryside with water.
With the increase in temperatures, the suffering of the people is escalating in light of the Turkish regime’s insistence on its crime of cutting water to the people of the city of Hasakah and to dozens of villages and population centers in the governorate’s countryside.
One of the locals told the correspondent of the Syrian News Agency (SANA) in Hasakah that the daily concern of the people is still securing water from the tanks. Which the Water Foundation, the Syrian Arab Red Crescent and other humanitarian organizations are working to ensure to people.
He added that the suffering is exacerbating and the situation is unbearable in light of the rising temperatures.
He wondered: “Are the international community and regional parties unable to resolve the problem of Allouk Station? Why is the world silent about the crimes committed against us? ”.
Another local underlined the urgency of finding solution to this catastrophic situation and for intensification of efforts to shed light on the crime of the Turkish occupation against one million citizens. At the same time, it is necessary to control the work of private tanks and prevent price control and exploiting the needs of the people.”
Director of the Water Establishment, Mahmoud Al-Okla, declared that there are no signs of a solution until now, calling on all humanitarian and relief organizations and all parties to find solution to the problem of Allouk station, and the removal of the occupier from it.
“We are currently cooperating with all authorities, organizations and associations to secure and transport drinking water to the people, from the Nafasheh well station in the east of the city and from Tel Brak station,” Al-Okla added.
He noted that “the organizations’ tanks are filled under the supervision of the Foundation to ensure their suitability for drinking in parallel with the increase in the number of tanks in the city center on a regular basis according to capabilities, in cooperation and coordination with the Directorate of Social Affairs and NGOs.”
It is noteworthy that the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries from terrorist organizations are repeating their crimes by attacking the power lines feeding Allouk water station. They have recently transferred most of the electric power allocated to feed the station to their locations and headquarters in the occupied city of Ras al-Ain.
