A million citizens are threatened with thirst, yet Turkish occupation and its terrorist mercenaries continue to cut off drinking water to Hasaka

The Turkish occupation and its terrorist mercenaries in the countryside of Ras al-Ain continue to cut off drinking water from the city of Hasakah for the eighth consecutive day, threatening the lives of one million citizens with thirst and exacerbating the spread of the new Corona virus.

The Director of the Water Company in Al-Hasakah, Eng. Mahmoud Al-Ekla, affirmed that efforts to restart the Alouk water station have not succeeded and the suffering of the people continues in light of the high temperatures and the increasing demand for water, especially since there is no alternative to the Alouk water station.

“Drinking water is currently secured for the people through government tanks and organizations,” al-Ekla added:

Al- Eklah said that the only solution for the water situation in Hasaka is to evict the Turkish occupier from the Alouk station and hand it over completely to the Water Company’s workers.

Abdul-Matar, a resident of Al-Hasakah city, called on all international organizations to intervene to find a permanent solution for the drinking water problem, which has become an additional burden on the people of  the Governorate of Al-Hasakah.

For his part, geologist Aziz Mikhail, a specialist in water affairs, confirmed that the Alouk station is currently the basis and must be operated.

Mikhail called for the necessity of implementation of the alternative. For example 10 wells can be drilled in the Tal Khaled area in the Amouda region and pump the water to the Western Dam’s lake, and it is possible to seriously consider investing in the water of the Al-Basil Dam, south of Hasakah, after getting rid of pollution.
