A lecture entitled “Syria’s Great Role in Supporting the Resistance” on the sidelines of 3rd Syrian Book Fair

Damascus (ST)-Head of the Arab Writers Union in Syria, Dr. Mohammad Al-Hourani, gave a lecture, entitled “Syria’s great role in supporting the resistance in Lebanon and Palestine” at Al-Assad National Library in Damascus, as part of the activities of the 3rd Syrian Book Fair. The lecture focused on Syria’s efforts in support of the resistance and in confrontation of the conspiracies and all the agendas that tried to target the region.

Al-Hourani said that Syria is at the forefront of countries supporting Palestinian cause, resistance and struggle against the occupation, pointing out that Syria refused to give up its support for resistance.

He clarified that Syria is now suffering from many attacks because of its support for resistance in Lebanon and Palestine, stressing that all must stand against attempts to target homelands and must strengthen the role of the media in confrontation of the cultural invasion targeting the Arab nation.

For her part, Minister of Culture Diala Barakat said that some of those who claim to be cultured and educated have followed the policy of disseminating ignorance from the beginning of the terrorist war of Syria, but the failed.

“We are the owners of this land and civilization and we alongside the young generation must defend this land and this civilization with all our strength, awareness and culture,” Barakat add

Minister Barakat stressed support for the culture of resistance and for protecting the constants and everything that enhances dignity, noting the role of the media in shedding light on what writers and intellectuals are doing in this field.
