A Hungarian archaeologist calls for the lifting of the economic blockade imposed on Syria

Budapest,(ST)-The Hungarian archaeologist, Dr. Mayor Balaj, called for the lifting of the economic blockade imposed on Syria, noting at the same time the steadfastness of the Syrian people in the face of the conspiracy they are  exposed to.

Balaj, head of the Department of Archeology at the University of Bazmani in Hungary, told SANA correspondent in Budapest: “I visited Syria for the first time as a student 25 years ago to study and through continuous regular archaeological work I got to know the hospitable Syrian people and touched their love for their country, especially during the crisis that started in 2011,” adding: I call for an immediate end to the blockade imposed on Syria, especially in light of the Coronavirus pandemic.
