A heritage exhibition for traditional household items in Al-Hasaka

Within the framework of preserving the Syrian deep-rooted heritage , the Arab Cultural Center in the city of Al-Hasaka  hosted a heritage exhibition under the title “ Dallah and Najer” ( coffee pot and old  household items  used for making coffee).

The exhibition  included a variety of heritage items owned by  a number of  archaeologists , residents    and  “Safsaf Al-Khabour” Association, which organized the exhibition.

The exhibition, which was attracted    visitors , displayed  a group of copper dallahs  of different sizes and shapes,  other  tools used in the manufacture of Arabic coffee,  household items that were used in the Syrian island during the past hundred years, in addition to  cotton and woolen textiles, carpets, traditional clothes  as well as  musical instruments.

 

The  Chairman of the organizing association ’s Board of Directors, Ahmed Al-Hussein, told SANA   that holding the exhibition stems from the need to preserve the heritage, which constitutes one of the main components of the popular memory, with the aim of strengthening the identity of national belonging and social ties between members of society.

He stressed that the association aims at introducing  Syrian heritage to   the younger generations and  seeks to link the youth to the  heritage of their  ancestors. 

In turn,  Reem Maarouf, who attended the exhibition, pointed  to  the importance of holding these events and the need to attract the  young  generation  in particular  to their  distinguished  heritage ,  values and morals that characterize our  Syrian distinguished  heritage.
