On August 9, a fire broke out in the SDF-run Areesha Camp, 25 km south of Hasaka, damaging 25 tents for the displaced families.
Sources in the Camp said that the reason for the fire was the use of poor-quality fuel to run a “kerosene burner,” which led to the expansion of the fire and its spread to the rest of the tents.
The 14000-residents Camp was set up by the US-backed SDF militia to prevent arrivals from the countryside of Hasaka, Deir Ezzor and Raqqa from entering the city of Hasaka.
