Havana (ST): The European Left Party denounced the unilateral coercive economic measures imposed on Syria, stressing that they violate the United Nations Charter.
During a press conference for a delegation from the party visiting Cuba, and in response to a question about the coercive measures imposed on Syria, the party’s vice president, Mite Mola, stressed that the European Left rejects and condemns the unilateral coercive measures imposed by the United States on Syria, Cuba and Venezuela and all similar measures against other countries, as they constitute a violation of human rights and harm people directly.
In the same context, member of the delegation and former Greek Foreign Minister George Katrogalos expressed his rejection of unilateral coercive measures on sovereign states, calling for respect for the United Nations Charter so that all peoples can live in peace.
During its meeting with Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel, the European delegation expressed its solidarity with Cuba and its rejection of the unjust embargo imposed by the United States on it.
