A delegation of the Russian Orthodox Church delivers medical devices and equipment to the Patriarchal Al- Hosn Hospital in Homs

Al-Hosn Patriarchal Hospital in Wadi Al-Nadarah area in the western countryside of Homs received modern medical devices and equipment, provided by a delegation of the Russian Orthodox Church led by Metropolitan Anthony, Head of the External Relations Department of the Moscow Patriarchate.

The Director of Al-Hosn Patriarchal Hospital, Dr. Khaled Yazigi, noted the importance of the equipment, which will contribute to upgrading the level of medical services and which was preceded by medical equipment provided by the Church during the past years.

He added that this medical aid is added to other contributions, including free medical days programs, with the participation of Russian doctors during which they provided free medical examinations for citizens.

According to Yazigi, the delivered devices include electric coagulation devices, C Arm machines, digestive endoscopy, an endoscopic surgery tower, operating room preparation tools, surgical tools, two ambulances, one of which is highly equipped and a large electricity generator.

The aid also includes contributing to equipping the new annexed section of the hospital that will increase the number of beds in it from 50 to 130, which allows the hospital to be converted into a university one.

In turn, Metropolitan Anthony pointed out that the support provided by the Russian Orthodox Church to the hospital through the provision of devices and equipment will contribute to the expansion and development of the medical services provided.

He said that today’s visit is to see directly the services provided by the hospital to the Syrians and to make sure that the Russian Church will continue to provide its support for them.
