A delegation from the Syrian-Japanese Friendship Association plants Sakura trees in the Cultural Complex in Homs
Homs (ST): A delegation from the Syrian-Japanese Friendship Association planted saplings of the Japanese Sakura tree in the garden of the Cultural Complex in Al-Shammas neighborhood in the city of Homs.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Society, Professor Yoshita Kasato, considered in a statement to SANA news reporter that the cultivation of this tree on Syrian lands is important, and a number of them were planted earlier in the garden of the Cultural Complex, and it has reached an advanced stage of growth thanks to the attention and care of those in charge of the place.
The Director of Culture of Homs, Hassan al-Labbad, indicated that in 2010 Sakura trees were planted in various regions in Syria, including the Cultural Complex, especially since this tree bears a distinctive symbol for the Japanese people and their culture.
