A delegation from the Palestinian territories occupied in 1948 in solidarity with the people of the Golan against the turbine scheme
A delegation from the Communication Committee in the Palestinian Territories Occupied in 1948 visited the occupied Syrian Golan to show solidarity with its people against the Judaizing settlement wind turbine scheme.
The delegation visited the sit-in tent that the people erected in the Al-Manfukha area, east of Baraka village, a month ago, to reject the occupation’s plan, which aims to seize thousands of dunums of their lands to set up turbines on them.
Sheikh Nazih Mahmoud, on behalf of the people of the Golan, welcomed the delegation, stressing the importance of the visit, which comes within the framework of the Palestinians’ solidarity with their brothers in the Golan.
For his part, Chairman of the Committee Sheikh Ouni Khneifis stressed the strong interdependence between the Palestinian and Syrian peoples in confronting the Israeli plans and conspiracies that target them both, pointing out that the people of the occupied land, with their steadfastness on their land and adherence to their rights, are able to thwart all Israeli plans.
Khneifis added that the Golan was a bridge to communicate with our people in Syria, and we are here today to confirm our firm position condemning and rejecting the conspiracy targeting Syria, and we will respond with loyalty.
For his part, lawyer Saeed Nafaa, head of the Carmel Writers Union, said that communication is the basis of our steadfastness and strength in the occupied land, and our position today in the occupied Syrian Golan to confirm that the root extending from the Galilee to the Golan to Damascus will never be cut off.
The dean of the liberated Syrian prisoners, Sidqi Al-Maqt, gave a detailed presentation of the danger of the wind turbine scheme. He reiterated the position of the people of the Golan that the land that the fathers and grandfathers irrigated with blood belongs to the sons, and they will not allow anyone to desecrate it and will defend it with everything they have.
Dr. Youssef Abu Saleh also gave a detailed explanation of the scheme, which targets thousands of dunums of Golan lands, noting that after exhausting all means to stop the scheme, the people had no choice but to confront the scheme and prevent the implementation of any of its steps, regardless of the sacrifices.
The wind turbine scheme is one of the most dangerous colonial and Judaization schemes targeting the occupied Syrian Golan, as the scheme includes the seizure of more than six thousand dunums in three stages that constitute a violation of all international laws and resolutions, foremost of which is Security Council Resolution No. 497 of 1981, which affirms that all occupation measures in the Golan are null and void and have no legal effect.
The second phase targets the Tal al-Faras area, where the occupation began work about two months ago, while the third phase targets the villages of Majdal Shams, Masada and Beqatha, and includes the seizure of more than four thousand dunums of agricultural land rich in cherry and apple orchards that its people have been working on them for decades and paying sacrifices to defend them.
Syria constantly affirms that the occupied Golan is an integral part of its territory and Syria works relentlessly to return every atom of the Golan soil to the homeland by all available means.
The United Nations stresses the need for Israel to withdraw from the occupied Syrian Golan to the June 4, 1967 line and stop all settlement activities there, stressing that all measures taken or to be taken by the Israeli occupation with the aim of changing the character or demographic structure of the Syrian Golan and its legal status are null and void and constitute a flagrant violation of international law and resolutions of International legitimacy.
